BREAKING: Leaks Show Trump Admin Secretly Changed Important Intel Document to Help Trump

A cache of leaked emails reveals that Joe Kent, chief of staff to the Director of National Intelligence and a senior aide to Tulsi Gabbard, directly intervened to alter a February 26 intelligence report that could have politically harmed Donald Trump.

The original intelligence assessment concluded that the Trump administration “lacked legal grounds to deport Venezuelan migrants without due process” and disputed allegations that the Tren de Aragua (TDA) gang was being directed by the Venezuelan government.

In the leaked emails, Kent explicitly pushed analysts to revise the findings:

“We need to do some rewriting” and conduct additional analysis “so this document is not used against the DNI or POTUS.”

Kent also directed them to reshape the narrative by asserting that:

“TDA leaders are given sanctuary in Venezuela as their gang members commit horrendous crimes in America,” instructing that context could later be added about the actual Venezuela-TDA dynamic.

Criticizing the memo’s tone, Kent claimed it downplayed the border crisis and wrote:

“TDA didn’t need logistical support from the Venezuelan government because Biden provided it for them.”
He also characterized Biden’s Customs and Border Protection as “a ‘travel service for illegals’.” He acknowledged the risk of appearing partisan, but insisted:
“I understand some may view this as political, but it’s not.”

Kent demanded a declassified, revised version by the end of the week to be presented to the White House.

First reported by The New York Times, the email leak has “raised internal alarms about politicizing intelligence analysis.”

This controversy comes in the context of Trump’s second term, during which he invoked the Alien Enemies Act—an obscure 18th-century wartime law—to deport Venezuelan migrants allegedly linked to TDA. The Trump administration also designated TDA a foreign terrorist organization.
