And we learn this just one day after we learned about the USSLincoln , this shows a very deep problem in the military, and Pete Hegseth is in charge , he has a lot of explaining to do.

Dereliction of duty: Fire Hegseth immediately! Where has all the funding for the military disappeared to? And the regime is “ asking” for yet MORE money? Whose pockets is filling with money for basic repairs and the strength of men & women, our most basic assets?

Jeannette Edith Bryant's avatar

I think we know who is getting the money.

These problems are emblematic of how the amateur Pete Kegsbreath’s mind operates. His idiot boss picked him for the job because he was a newscaster rather than selecting a US Naval Academy graduate with decades of experience and education.

These problems send a message to the entire world: The US armed forces are unfit and unprepared for any serious warfare. Perhaps that’s an intentional ploy by the Commander in Chief to provoke yet another war by tempting attacks upon us personnel.

He is in way over his head and woefully inadequate from day one.

They got rid of DEI and put imbeciles and addicts in charge.

I’d like to see these ships return home since all the orders they’ve been given are unlawful.

What a travesty.

And then no meals. 🙈🙉🙊

HEGSETH had no qualifications whatsoever for the job he was gifted by Der President who is equally unqualified for his job! So Republicans! You finally got the government you hungered for this many years! Dropouts, twits, losers and fakers—the worst people possible for this job!

And Pete Heg in charge!! Lessen +1 …….

Never put an alcoholic

in charge of ANYTHING.

Hegseth needs to go back to dusting and vacuuming the set on Fox. That’s about all he’s good for.

Kathy's avatar

Hegseth can tend bar at Fox almost news… Pirro can be Foxxy barmaid

Ha! Great idea! 💡

I can’t shake the feeling this goes far beyond negligence. It seems that by letting ships deteriorate and falling into disrepair, alongside crews of exhausted, starving, and traumatized sailors, they are creating the potential for a huge loss of life by a catastrophic mechanical failure, critical human error, or a mutinous crew.

They’re creating a wag-the-dog version of “Remember the Maine” to create a martyr to rally around.

CK's avatar

That’s very possible. I posted a related comment.

Wow! The greatest navy on the planet!! What a sad state of affairs. Just when will America be great again???

MAKE AMERICA BLUE IN NOVEMBER AS IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT

LEE FOSTER's avatar

Because it does.

CK's avatar

What “again”? When was America actually great? Ask the indigenous peoples, many of whose ancestors were living in North America 11,000 years ago.

Cathy F's avatar

Too many Americans’ knowledge of history is seriously lacking.

CK's avatar

I believe that is a deliberate result of the American public schools system curricula.

All high school students should read Howard Zinn’s “People’s History of the United States” and Naomi Klein’s “The Shock Doctrine” and Jeremy Scahill’s “Dirty Wars” prior to graduating. That would be a good start.

Many Native Americans and First Nations People know their history of the past several thousand years. The families of many “Mexican Americans” have lived in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Arizona, Nevada or California hundreds of years before the arrival of Cristobal Colombo in 1492.

Generally, they don’t talk about that openly with “Anglos or gringos”. I worked with some of them.

Hegseth is worthless.

Kathy's avatar

We knew all this at Hegseth’s hearings… this is on the traitors who passed dip shit Pete

CK's avatar

They are all domestic enemies of the USA.

Service members get no meals and mechanical failures while Hegseth and his team dine on rib eye steaks and lobster. Whatever happened to that story?

Kathy's avatar

Perhaps the massive amounts of funding the military is going into - let’s call it - the wrong pockets. Unfortunately, ur current government seems to be teeming with “wrong pockets”, so sailors have to fear consequences if they seek safe quarters at sea & on land. I’ve heard what Hegseth is spouting: garbage

Denise K's avatar

This is just getting ridiculous. Hegseth needs to go. They need to pull back in the people that they let go who have talent in the military area. We have dumber leading the dumber.

ann schneider's avatar

Yes, because Hegseth is a radio host. That is ALL he is. …grease, all I can think of.

FYI...I saw this on X by M@Monophilia1 that reported " last year Pete Hegsh*t went on a shopping spree and spent $6.9 million on lobster tails and $15 million on Riley steaks in a single month, yet we can't afford milk for the sailors on board of # USSAbrahamLincoln? What a disgrace!". He is so disgusting!! Remember he destroyed 2 organizations, drove them into the ground before he was Secretary of Defense!!).

@MEISELASB (great channel on YouTube), Ben Meiselas reported that according to the report by government watchdog Open The Books, in the final month of the 2025 fiscal year, the Dept. of Defense moved to exhaust its remaining budget to avoid future funding cuts--a practice known as use it or lose it.

Beyond the $6.9 million for lobster, the Pentagon spent: $15.1 million on ribeye steaks, $2 million on Alaskan king crab, nearly $140,000 on doughnuts, over $124,000 on ice cream machines. High-end non-food items were: $98,329 Steinway & Sons grand piano for an Air Force residence (for Caine??), $255 million in furniture, featuring individual chairs costing nearly $1900, $12,540 for fruit basket stands, $5.3 million on Apple devices.

And these fricken pieces of shirt couldn't even have milk for the sailors??

Pete Hegsh%t needs to be #FIRED!! He needs to PAY BACK ALL OF US TAXPAYERS THAT ARE SACRIFICING WHILE STRUGGLING WITH ALL OF fRUMPY'S MAYHEM!! VOTE 💙💙💙💙💙💙!

Ridiculous, revolting behavior by tRumpf, Kegsbreath, and Micro Marco! Bring our military home or make a magnificent valid reason why supplies, support, and repairs and rescue haven't been given. We all know they can't and sadly don't care.

Patricia Lane's avatar

There is obviously a serious problem in the military . This is third world B S . It appears that routine maintenance is being ignored by the people I charge of the military( Hegseth, etc) .

Being sent into action without proper equipment is a disgraceful choice by military leaders.

Couldn’t possibly have anything to do with Hegseths firing of many great generals? Yes of course. Like every other situation in government , it seems these alleged leaders are destructive. That’s their goal . Of course Trumps orders from Putin are to destroy this country . Fits perfectly with that treason.

Someone other than Trump and Hegseth need to be in charge of this mess .

Don't expect anything from Hogsbreath- he's too busy flexing his biceps for the cameras and rubbing brylcreme in his hair. ....no interest /. concern for lowly sailors
