MAGA Had a Meltdown Over "8647" — Here's Why It’s Nonsense

Yesterday, MAGA went into full meltdown mode—because James Comey, the Republican-appointed former FBI Director, posted an image on Instagram with the number “8647.” If you’ve been to even a single protest or spent five minutes in a left-leaning circle, you already know what that means: remove the 47th president from office. Legally. Peacefully. Through impeachment, indictment, or the 25th Amendment.

The number “86” is a well-known term in restaurant slang—it means to toss something out, cancel it, or kick someone out. It’s not a secret code. Heck, even MAGA themselves were selling “8646” merch when Biden became president. Did anyone claim they were calling for murder?

But leave it to Don Jr. to light the fuse on MAGA’s outrage machine. Almost instantly, the conspiracy crowd went wild: Jack Posobiec, Libs of TikTok, EndWokeness, even Trump himself—claiming Comey was calling for assassination. It’s laughable. And dangerous.

This is what the far right does best: take words or numbers, twist them, and manufacture fake outrage. They did it with “woke.” They did it with “CRT.” They did it with “DEI.” And now they’re doing it with 8647—trying to paint their political opponents as violent, racist, and un-American.

Sound familiar? It should. Read a history book about Nazi Germany. Hitler weaponized language to demonize his enemies and justify authoritarian power. It doesn’t start with violence—it starts with a lie.

And here's the kicker: Remember Jack Posobiec, who was crying foul? Yeah, he tweeted “8646” years ago. Should he be arrested for “calling for Biden’s murder”? Did Matt Gaetz literally say he “murdered” Ronna McDaniel, Mitch McConnell, and Kevin McCarthy? Is Amazon selling assassination shirts? Etsy too?

Of course not. Because context matters. Intent matters. But the MAGA movement doesn’t want nuance. They want outrage.

So I’ll keep posting 8647—not because I want harm to come to a convicted felon president, but because I believe he should be legally removed from office before he does even more damage to our democracy. If that bothers you, then maybe your issue isn’t the number… it’s the truth behind it.
