The Trump DOJ’s Two-Faced Approach to Threats and Justice
A few weeks ago, Mark Rakocy of Niles, Ohio, threatened to kill both me and former President Barack Obama. I immediately did what any responsible citizen should do — I reported the threat to the FBI and the Secret Service.
Rakocy later bragged that the Secret Service had visited him — yet, astonishingly, he was never arrested. He’s walking free after making a death threat against a former president.
Now contrast that with what happened just last week: the FBI swiftly arrested a man for threatening right-wing commentator Benny Johnson (The threat came on the same exact day as my threat). No hesitation. No delay.
So here’s the question: why the double standard? Why does the Trump-era Department of Justice seem to act decisively when a conservative is threatened — but drag its feet when the target is someone on the left?
If the Secret Service, FBI, and AG Pam Bondi are truly impartial, then they need to prove it. Because right now, it looks like justice only matters if you’re MAGA.
