Exactly what we knew would happen. More violence. MAGA and the entire GOP should be the ones deported. At 11, my daughter came home from a weekend at her dad’s where he took her to a hateful fire and brimstone southern Baptist church. She came home and told me “all gay people are going to hell.” I had a long talk with her and she came to realize that couldn’t be true. I think us “daddy’s girls” often just believe everything they say, even if we don’t understand it. I was “raised Republican”, and simply went along with it because I didn’t follow politics until later in life. Until realizing what a grave mistake I’d made in 2016, a mistake that’s haunted me every day since. My political “education” began in 2017, and my first teacher was my daughter ☺️
The Southern Baptist “church” was exploited by plantation owners— slave owners — to control their servants. Hatred of “the other” was, and continues to be, elemental. The “people in charge” didn’t want the masses to direct hatred towards the masters, so they directed their followers to find faults among their peers.
