The people on the periphery, the one-time Trump voters and the ones who had doubts will fall away, but the hardcore "ride-or-due" Trump supporters won't begin to break with him until they're suffering themselves. The fastest way it looks as though that will be accomplished across the board is by means of tariffs. People willing or even - ugh! - eager to go along with racist, bigoted and illegal policies as long as they benefit economically as promised, or at least come out fairly even. Real, immediate economic pain for *them*, the ones who are supposed to profit from the persecutions? That they won't tolerate.
